Green Co Certification

CII – Sohrabji Godrej Green Business Centre works closely with the stakeholders on promoting Green practices in the Industry and offers world-class advisory services on the conservation of natural resources. One of the major steps taken by CII towards this direction is the development of ‘Green Company Rating system’ (GreenCo rating) for companies.

GreenCo Rating is the “first of its kind in the World” holistic framework that evaluates companies on the environmental friendliness of their activities using life cycle approach. Implementation of GreenCo rating provides leadership and guidance to companies on how to make products, services and operations greener. Industry personnel are trained on the latest Green concepts and facilitate for implementing better systems and implementing global best practices in green.

Tata Metaliks received it’s Green Co Gold certificate in FY 23 for its sustainability related initiatives.

Tata Metaliks has been rated GreenCo Gold in its very first year of application, by CII-Godrej, GBC (Green Business Centre), in accordance with Green Company Rating System. This rating is valid for 3 years. There are 5 levels of rating viz. Certified, Bronze, Silver, Gold & Platinum, wherein Gold comes under National Best.

CII – GBC GreenCo framework is an assessment revolving around 10 credit requirements, covering all aspects of environment, including key aspects of Energy efficiency, use of renewables, GHG emissions, air, water & resource conservation, waste, supply chain, life cycle aspects, Green infrastructure (with elements of biodiversity) & Innovation for environment.

30% of weightage is given to strategy, policy, intent, action plan, future projections and 70% is on implementation and results, benchmarking etc.
