Mr. Chatterjee completed his under graduation from University of Calcutta and is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Mr. Chatterjee joined Tata Steel in 1995 in Corporate Finance and Planning Group. In 1999, he was transferred to the Group Executive Office (GEO) of Tata Sons the parent company of the Tata Group, where he worked with the Group Finance Director for 5 years till 2004 in the areas of M&A, new ventures and corporate restructuring.
In August 2004, at the age of 36 years, Mr. Chatterjee assumed the role of the Chief Financial Officer of the Company and designated as the Vice President (Finance). Mr. Chatterjee was appointed to the Board of Tata Steel in November 2012 as the Whole Time Director with the responsibility for Group Finance functions globally for Tata Steel.
In the last 15 years as the Chief Financial Officer of Tata Steel, he has enabled Tata Steel to ride out of unprecedented challenges following the global financial crisis in Europe and led the Company to raise over US$60 billion of gross capital funding. He has led the growth and M&A strategy, transaction planning, structuring and execution planning for acquisitions with transactions value aggregating to more than US $15 billion in India, Europe, Canada, Africa, Thailand, Singapore and Australia. In 2016 and 2017, he led the complex multi-stakeholder negotiations with the consortium of Trade Unions in the UK, the Government of UK, the Pension Regulator and the British Steel Pension Scheme Trustees for structural de-risking and delinking of the Â£ 16 billion defined benefit pension scheme from the underlying business to ensure a sustainable future for both the employees and the Company.
Mr. Chatterjee is on the Board of Tata Steel, Tata Steel Europe and several Tata Steel Group companies including as the Chairman of two publicly listed entities, viz. Tata Metaliks Ltd and Tinplate Company of India. He is also a member of the Board of World Steel Association Brussels.
Mr. Chatterjee was declared one of India’s best CFOs by Business Today Magazine in 2005 and 2006 and by CNBC in 2007 and 2012. In 2009, he was awarded the best Indian Executive by Asia money and in 2015 was recognized as the Most Influential CFO of India by The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK. In 2019, Financial Express, a pre-eminent publication in India awarded him fe CFO Lifetime Achievement Award. Mr Chatterjee is a frequent public speaker at various conferences in India and abroad on Strategy, Financing, Sustainability and Climate Change, Corporate Governance and Financial Reporting.

Mr. Chatterjee was the first Indian to be appointed on the Global Preparers Forum, an advisory body of the International Accounting Standards Board, London and has been a member of the B20 Task Forces under the Chairmanship of Turkey, Germany and China on Energy, Climate & Resource efficiency and Responsible business. He has also been a member of several advisory committees of the Securities Exchange Board of India on primary capital markets and Takeover regulations. He is currently member of the National Council of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), India’s largest industry association.
Mr. Sandeep Kumar has ~ 30 years of work experience with the Tata group having joined Tata Steel as a Graduate Trainee in 1991. He has handled various responsibilities and worked in different cities and countries. His core experience revolves around Commercial and General Management responsibilities in the business of Steel and Steel raw materials including ferro-alloys and non-ferrous metals.
He is currently the Managing Director of Tata Metaliks, a listed company on BSE and NSE. He has earlier been the Managing Director of S&T Mining Pvt Ltd (a JV Company of Tata Steel and SAIL for coal mining) from 2008 to 2012.
Mr. Kumar is a Mining Engineer from IIT(ISM), Dhanbad and a postgraduate in International Trade from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), New Delhi. He has also undergone various Management & Leadership Development Programs including that at Leeds University Business School in UK where he won the British Chevening Scholarship in 1999 and at CEDEP, France where he attended its flagship General Management program in 2017.
He is closely associated with various industry bodies:
1. In CII Eastern Region – as a Council member and Chairperson – Environment, sustainability & Governance (ESG) sub-committee. He is also a member of the CII National Committee on Steel.
2. As a Managing Committee member of the Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCI)
3. As an Executive Committee member of Indian Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Sanjiv Paul is Vice President, Safety Health & Sustainability at Tata Steel Ltd.
Mr. Paul, graduated in Metallurgical Engg. and joined Tata Steel Ltd. (TSL) in 1986 as Graduate Trainee. After working in Steel Melting Shops in various capacities and completion of a Senior Management program at CEDEP, France, he moved on to assume Leadership roles in areas of General Management in TSL.
In the past, he has been Managing director of JUSCO (now TSUISL), Tata Metaliks and VP (Corporate Services), TSL.
He is an avid reader and a golfer.
Krishnava is the Founder and Managing Partner of Argus Partners and sits on the executive committee, which advises the Firm on various strategic initiatives. He has led the Firm from its inception in 2009, now with offices in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, and Kolkata. He advises some of the largest corporate houses and their boards on various matters including corporate governance and board responsibility.

Forbes India in its Legal Powerlist 2021 and 2020 has recognised Krishnava as one of the Top 50 Managing Partners and as one of the Top 100 Individual Lawyers. Thomson Reuters’ ALB India 2020 Super 50 Lawyers’ list recognised him as one of the top 50 private practitioners in India. India Business Law Journal (IBLJ) has identified Krishnava as one of India’s Top 100 A-List lawyers (for the last five consecutive years). He has also been ranked by various publications such as Chambers and Partners, Legal500, IFLR1000, RSG, etc. as a leading legal practitioner in India.
Dr Rupali Basu, a veteran in healthcare sector in India is currently the Managing Director of Woodlands Multispecialty Hospital Ltd, Kolkata. She held the positions of Non-executive Director, IQ City Medical College and Hospital, Durgapur; President and CEO Eastern Region of Apollo Hospitals Group, India and General Manager, Kolkata for Wockhardt Hospitals Limited, Mumbai before amongst many others. Dr Basu is a medical graduate from R G Kar Medical College, Kolkata and have post graduate training in Health and Hospital Management from Harvard and Delhi Universities. She is known for her pioneering work in bringing Quality Systems and Accreditation in Healthcare in India. Her contribution in developing Superspeciality Tertiary Care hospital services in Eastern India specifically Cancer, Cardiac and Emergency care is instrumental in bringing back the confidence of people in healthcare in the Region.
Mr. Ghosh, a CMA and MBA (XLRI), has over 37 years of experience in various greenfield ventures, brownfield expansion/ diversification and acquired ongoing concerns. His areas of expertise include corporate financial restructuring, strategic planning exercise, acquisition integration and implementation of turnaround plans, among others. He has served in Tata Steel and its group companies, and is a member of The Institute of Directors. As a Rotarian with Rotary Club of Calcutta, he engages in various community welfare services.
