 The Indian heritage in the field of casting, including art casting, is indeed old and interesting. Religious scriptures like Vedas, Ramayan and Mahabharat mention about castings of silver, gold and iron, but the age is unknown. Earliest literary evidence of use of iron is mentioned in Rigveda as "Ayas".
