Health checkup for detecting diabetes and hypertension was conducted on 29th January 2007 at No 4 Kalaikunda Anchal Pradhan Office. 148 patients from nearby villages attended the health camp.
A health checkup camp and a Nutritional Survey were conducted on 24th Feb 2007 at Maheshpur Primary School. Students from Standards I to IV, from four Schools – Maheshpur Primary School, Maheshpur Madrassa, Latibpur; Sishu Siksha Kendra and Kalapatna Primary School attended the camp.
An eye checkup and treatment camp was organized on 29th and 30th March 2007. About 416 patients attended the Eye camp and were given treatment.
Blood donation Camp was organized within the plant premises on 31st March 2007. 72 persons donated blood on the day.
• Education and Training
A Cycle Stand was constructed at the Gokulpur High School by the efforts of Tata Metaliks.
Drivers’ training was provided to 20 persons during the year. This is an activity that is undertaken to make the local youth self sufficient. This is an ongoing programme.
• Civic Amenities
The roof of the Bus Stand at Saha Chak, which got damaged due to the rains and storm, was renovated by TML.
Maintenance of the 52 previously installed solar-powered streetlights.
• Sports
A football tournament was organized on 15th August 2006, at the Gokulpur High School. It was open for all from that vicinity.
